Do you remember when you first got saved? What did you do? Perhaps you were very eager to tell anybody that would listen. You were probably thrilled to read the Bible and challenged yourself to read it through within a year. That is wonderful and that is exactly how it should be. I think as new Christians our faith is new and we need that wonderful feeling of closeness to the Lord for the journey ahead. And a journey it is. The journey is full of twist and turns. But no matter the terrain of the road you’re on, God is always with you. Sometimes on the journey you will go through a span of time where you feel that the Lord is not near you. You feel you have prayed and prayed and still no answer. You wonder why can’t you feel Him. So what do you do? Well sometimes these are test that we must go through to build our faith and that is another topic for another blog later on, but sometimes it is something in our lives that has caused this great divide. You see God never ever leaves us but it is us who leaves Him. Perhaps you have slacked in your prayers, or reading your Bible. Perhaps you are doing things that you would have never done when you first got saved. So I have the verse for you. Revelation 2:5, ” Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” (KJV) You see God gives us His warnings but He also gives us hope. So in this verse He wants us to admit to ourselves what we’ve done, where we have strayed, and then He wants us to admit it to Him. There’s something therapeutic when we confess our sins to God. After we confess our sins to Him, accept His forgiveness, because He is faithful to forgive them, and then get back up and continue on your journey. Go back and read your Bible the way you use to. Go back and pray like you use to. Forget those things that started to creep back into your life, those bad habits. Let them go. I believe that if you do these things you will find that as you draw nigh to Him, He will draw nigh to you. Kind of the same thing when you’re married. After a while you need to think about what it is about your spouse that you fell in love with and treat them the way you did in the beginning. You do that and I believe your love for each other will grow stronger and you will have a renewed love and interest in them. So if you feel you are not as close to God as you use to be, go back and do your first works over.
I just wanted to write something real quick for you all. A thought has been swirling in my mind all day-don’t give up. Life can be so very hard sometimes. And sometimes it may seem that nobody has a clue what you are going through. But God does know. He knows exactly. So remember this verse, Philippians 4:1, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Can you go to that job? Yes you can! Can you face that bad situation? Yes you can! Can you get through this trial? YES YOU CAN!!! We are gonna have certain circumstances but the circumstances do not have to have us!!
Be bold and know that God loves you, He is with you even if nobody else is, and YOU CAN MAKE IT!
God bless you all!!

Hello everyone. I was reading my Bible this morning and I came upon scripture that I read a few months ago. It seemed appropriate for today’s blog, so I want to elaborate a little on it….We as humans a lot of the time want to like what we hear. You know what I mean. If somebody is telling us that we’re wrong, what do we do. We tend to feel a little angry. Some folks more than others. Some people cannot take any criticism at all. I have tried to come to realize that I am not always right. I get things wrong, I do things wrong. When I do something that is not right with God, He then will convict me. I then am at a crossroad. Will I accept His chastening and admit that I have sinned or will I refuse to believe that I have done anything wrong and keep pushing it away. With God we have no choice but to be honest with ourselves. Why? Because He already knows the answer. I will tell you this that when I have admitted that I failed and ask God for forgiveness there is a heavy load that immediately is lifted off. God is Awesome in that way. So along the lines of being honest with ourselves I want to take you to Jeremiah 5:31, “The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priest bear rule by their means: and what will you do in the end thereof?” (KJV) What will you do in the end? You see there is only ONE truth, ONE way to be saved and that is by asking Jesus to forgive us of our sins and asking Him to save us. There is no other way. So what I believe Jeremiah is saying here is that if you believe or better yet, choose to believe that there are multiple ways to be saved, or there are other gods that can save you, then what will you do when the time comes when Jesus does come back. There is no other strength that we can rely on. God does not ask of any hard task on our part. We do not have to sacrifice our life to die to be saved, He died that we might be saved. He already paid the price. The only sacrifice that we must make is our time, devoting ourselves to Him. God has never approved of sacrificing your body or somebody else to be saved. That is humans that believe that. Some would rather choose to believe that God is alive in the trees and nature and other earthly things. He made all these things and he put His signature on them, but there are no gods that live in them. He can not be reduced to an object or thing. There is only one God, one way, one truth. One name whereby we must be saved. Whether people want to admit it or not, or whether they choose to believe it or not does not change the fact. The fact that God is indeed who He says He is. We can’t stick our heads in the ground and refuse to hear the truth. The truth that God is real, He is a loving God, He died for our sins, He arose from the dead, and He is coming back. He wants and desires to take us all to heaven. He doesn’t want anyone to parish unfortunately we make that choice. If we refuse to be saved then we accept to go to hell. That is the truth. If we refuse the truth, what will happen to us in the end?
Thank you and I truly appreciate each and every one of you!! I pray for you all and I pray that God will reveal Himself to you in a special way.
Remember life is worth the living because He lives.

Thanksgiving is giving thanks! Today we are celebrating Thanksgiving. So along these lines I just wanted to say that we should have thanksgiving everyday! I know sometimes you may feel that you have nothing to be thankful for. I have even had those same thoughts but then it always dawns on me that Jesus died for me. I am saved. So there is no greater event to be thankful for, right? Some people have faced terrible things in their lives. Things that most humans will never face and with that being said I do not want to in an way belittle what they have gone through. I do encourage you though to look at where you are and where you’ve been and hopefully you are in a better place right now. If you feel that you have nothing to be thankful for, thank God for being with you as you go through the tumult. The children of Israel had to go through the Red sea to get to the other side. The three Hebrew children had to go through the fire but they made it, and what a blessing it turned out to be for them and for us to read about. You will go through things but God is with you so for that give Him thanks. It can be hard, but just try to work out a simple, “thank you, Jesus.” I guarantee your load will seem a little lighter. We are only here for a little while. The trials you face are only temporary. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 18 says, ” In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ” (KJV) He loves when we thank Him and give Him praise but it is twofold, because while we are lifting Him up, He is lifting our heavy heart as well. So thank Him today. Thank Him for who He is. Because we serve a living God that cares about us! God hears the smallest whisper, sometimes that’s all we can do. I do pray for everyone of you today. I pray that you will feel comfort and thanksgiving in your own heart. I pray that you all know how much God loves you! You are never alone for He is always with you.
