With or Without Him

I’ve been going through a trial. It’s mostly physical but it has been affecting me Spiritually. This morning I was thinking about it all and a thought occurred to me. We are gonna face the same trials in life, the only thing we can change is whether we have Christ go with us. Personally I shutter to think how I would get by if I didn’t have Him to lean on. He is not the cause of my trial but He can certainly give me strength to get through it.

How Pretty

imageI took this photo this morning because each morning when I take our puppy out I look up at the beautiful moon and I have this reassurance that God is real and big and completely in-charge.

Esther 9:1, “Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month A’dar, on the thirteenth day of the same when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jew’s had rule over them that hated them) KJV. Satan has his plans against God’s people. He hopes to have power over you, but the key word here is hope. He hopes to rule over you. He hopes to destroy you, to take everything away from you. Your family, your loved ones, your health, your self-esteem, your salvation and your hope. A preacher I know says, that sin will take you further than you ever thought you would go. But praise God, our hope is not in man or a power that is going to fail us. Our hope is in the Almighty God. He has all power. God will give us the power over our enemies. When I say enemies I am speaking Spiritual enemies. He gives us the power over sin and power over the temptations that you face daily. He gives you the power to overcome because we have our hope and trust in Him. God is the God that cannot fail. Today pray that God will give you the strength and the power to withstand the enemy. Put on the whole armor of the Lord that ye may be able to withstand the whiles of the devil. Satan has hope to destroy you and have power over you. Where will your hope be? They that hope in the Lord will not be ashamed. You won’t regret it. God will not ever let you down. …”The enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, ( though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them”).

May God bless you today.

The King’s Ring

Esther 8:8 ” Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may not be reversed.” Many times one of my children will come to me and tell me that the other children are not behaving as they should. So in turn, instead of addressing the problem myself I will say, ” You go tell them that Mama said…” So the child will go back and repeat my words and more often than not the problem is resolved. You see if he had spoken in his name the other children would not have  obeyed but because he went in MY name they did. So here we have king Ahasuerus that has essentially done the same thing to them. Now whenever Esther or Mordecai shall command and seal it with the king’s ring, it shall be done. They will not be speaking empty words of power but they now have the authority to back it up. This is what Jesus has done for us. He has given us His name and with it comes authority and power. So when we pray and say in Jesus name, that is as good as the king’s ring. John 14:13,14 says, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (14) If ye shall ask any thing in MY NAME, I will do it.” Through Christ we have power and authority. We are not beat down Christians. Let us always  give God the glory, and the praise, and the honor, for HE IS WORTHY.

Victory or Worry

Esther 3:15 ” The post went out being hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in Shu’shan the palace and the king and Haman sat down to drink, but the city was perplexed.” KJV

Here we have a city that is now tormented by what is supposed to happen. Haman had arranged for all the Jews to be slain. Both young and old. I’m sure some residents didn’t care that the Jews were to perish but it says, the city was perplexed which causes me to think that it wasn’t just the Jews who were perplexed but the residents as a whole of Shu’shan.

Here the king is a pawn in Satan’s hand. How many times in the Bible or throughout history have we seen people be used by Satan simply because they are not where they need to be with the Lord. Even in churches. Such pain and suffering have these people caused. Some damage has been so terrible it that seems it is irreparable while some damage is not allowed to ever take place.

We see here that the king and Haman are sitting and enjoying their meal. Haman is happy and I’m sure he is practically giddy because he is about to eradicate the Jews. The king is thrilled because he is going to be doing away with any who are not supporters and completely loyal to him.

So we have two different scenarios here, the king and Haman are pleased with themselves thinking that they will be victorious and then we have this other scenario where a nation is worried and perplexed at their impending doom. Both entities are wrong, although both thinks that they are right. What they both cannot see is the UNSEEN hand of God at work.

This is life people in a nutshell. We cannot see the UNSEEN hand at work most of the time, yet we are asked by God to trust Him and obey. Literally all the Jews lives depended on whether Esther would continue to trust and obey allowing the UNSEEN hand to work  or she could choose to accept things the way they were, only seeing what is right in front of her, thereby condemning a whole people to be destroyed. It was ultimately her choice. God never forces us to do anything, it is always our choice. We know however that she did indeed trust and obey. She did that which was asked of her to do. (By her obedience thousands were saved.) And this is what we must do. Trust God, do what He ask of us to do. He wants us not to trust in what we can see but trust in that which we cannot see or better yet the WHO we cannot see.

The devil has his plans, and right now it appears he will prevail. He wants to eradicate us Christians, he is sitting constantly trying to device devious plans to defeat God’s people and to wipe us out. BUT my brothers and sisters, let us not sit and wring our hands in perplexity because the UNSEEN hand is already at work. All we must do is be patient, have faith, and trust in Him, and obey Him.

We will be victorious. We will win. We are gonna have battles and most of the time they will seem impossible to defeat. But do not wring your hands in fear and worry but rather fold those hands in prayer and lift them to heaven in victory! Wave your palms of victory!

Not What You Would Choose, But…

In the story of Esther, she was chosen by the king to be his queen. Although the life of a queen does seem quite glamorous this perhaps was not the life that Esther had chosen. The Bible does not say whether this was her wish but only that she obeyed her uncle. Esther chapter 2 verse 17 says, “And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vash’-ti.” Perhaps she grew to love him if she didn’t already. But nonetheless she was placed in a situation that I’m sure she never dreamed that she would be. Sometimes we are put in places through our own actions or through the actions of others. And while it is not the ideal situation and maybe out of our hands we can choose how we want to handle it. Esther chose to handle her situation with grace, dignity and kindness. She obtained favor because of this. We know that later on she was able to save the Hebrew people because she pleased the king. This shows us that we may not choose where we are placed but we choose how to respond. Will you respond with grace and faith and obedience and a Godly attitude or will you allow the flesh to rise and take control of the situation. We can be a witness or rather, we are a witness through our actions. One more note, we don’t want to respond in the “right” manner simply to obtain the favor with man but let us respond the “right” way to obtain favor with God. When Jesus was a child the Bible says He grew in favor with and God and man. Let this be our motto, ever striving to be a witness, walking the road that we are on with grace and obedience to God. It may not be easy all of the time, but we are not alone for God is with us and He will always help us giving us the strength that we need. So remember your situation may not be what you would have chosen but God and only God can turn what is meant for evil to good.

Hope you have a blessed day and rest in the assurance that God has all things in control even when we may feel things are out of control.
