Tender Flowers 🌺 🌸🌹🌾

I was able to work in my flower 🌺  garden yesterday. I love ❤️ pulling weeds and making the garden look fresh after the long winter ❄️ months.

So, yesterday I was using my rake to pull out the chickweed that was very thick  in one area, and while I was raking I saw I had raked over my tender Easter 🐣 Lily plants 🌱. I quickly kneeled down to see how bad they were damaged. They appeared a little beaten up 🤕,  but I’m hoping they make it. I gently pulled the remaining weeds that were around it, hoping not to cause more damage.

This is how it is in our churches. Sometimes the decievers, ” weeds” are working right along side of the true believers, “flowers 🌺.” In some cases the believer is aware of the deciever and it appears they go “untouched”, but we do not see the tender little flowers 🌺  🌹  that are amongst  the weeds of deception and if God were to say…. yank them up and give them what for, there could be serious damage to those tender plants 🌱 amongst them.

This brings us to the question that I’m sure you’ve all had, then what will be done, is there any justice? Yes, God sees, you can believe that, and He is well aware of what is going on, BUT, unlike me when I raked and damaged my Easter lily, He sees those tender flowers 🌺, and He knows just what they can or cannot take. You can rest assure He has His children, “flower garden,” in His best interest. Matthew 13:29,30 “But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat 🌾 with them. (30) Let them both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat 🌾 into my barn.” We do not have to fret, we do not need to worry about these things, because our Lord is in control! He loves ❤️ His children, and He will do what’s best to protect them from being hurt or damaged. He is trying  To keep those thender Christians from falling by the wayside. He sends rain ☔️ upon the just and the unjust. So trust Him when circumstances seem unjust, because He knows what He’s doing, He has His eyes on those tender flowers 🌺.

Filter For Your Soul

The other day I was making coffee ☕️ and while I was drinking it I noticed a few coffee grounds. The next day I saw where the grounds had gotten in between the filter and the little well where the water 💦 comes out. So I proceeded to clean it out, and make coffee ☕️, and no more grounds. This may sound irrelevant but bear with me. I was thinking 💭 while cleaning it, that the filter is like being saved. It keeps the grounds, “sins,” out of our lives, but sometimes we slip, and the grounds, “sins,” start to show up in our lives. So what do we need to do? We need to examine our lives, and ask God to remove the grounds, “sin,” and become clean again. Sometimes things or sins will slowly creep 👀 in, it all starts little by little. The question is then, when you feel the Holy Spirit convicting you, what will you do. Ephesians 6:11 says this, ” Put on the WHOLE armour of God, that ye may be able to stand AGAINST the wiles of the devil.” The way we keep our “filter,” intact is to daily put on the Full Armor of God. Renew our relationship with God daily. I make a fresh pot of coffee ☕️ daily, often a couple times a day, our relationship with God needs to be kept fresh as well. When we pray and read our Bible, it keeps our spirit fresh in the Lord. Coffee ☕️ is great when it’s fresh and free from grounds, our spiritual life is great when we keep it fresh and free from sins. A preacher once said, “If you give something up for the Lord, then for your sake, don’t take it back up again.” Why? Because it will make you weak, and you will feel defeated 😕, your filter will slump and grounds may creep 👀 in. Give up whatever is keeping you from having a fresh daily relationship with God, you will be glad you did. Like Maxwell House always says, “Good to the last drop,” Christ is good everyday, in every way, He never changes, His mercy renews daily.

He’s Right Here

We all must go through things in our lives, because that is simply, life.  We, being Christians do not get a free ride, we face the same things as other people, and perhaps in certain cases, more. What does this mean, some folks want to know, or why me, or where is God in all this, these questions are often raised. I don’t have all the answers, but I do have hope for you.

We are in this world but we are not apart of this world. We are going to face turbulent times, but being a Christian, we have hope of good things, we have the assurance that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. In second Kings chapter 2:14, see what Elisha does, “And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.” I love this verse and I gotta tell you, I have often asked the same question, Where is God. A cute anecdote was once given by a preacher who I love and admire. He said his daughter was driving one day and she had her little girl in the back seat, well she was in an unfamiliar place and she stopped the car and said, I just don’t know where we are, the little girl in the back said, Well mama, we’re right here. 😂 Often the simple things can speak the most profoundly. God has not left you, He has not left me, He is right here. If you feel lost in your life and you were to ask me, where is God, I would say, well my friend, He’s right here, a simple answer for a complex question. Elisha wanted to know where the Lord God of Elijah was, and God was saying, I’M RIGHT HERE. He will not leave you, if you seek Him, you will surely find Him. He is right where you leave Him. He cannot go into sin with you, if you choose to do so, if you choose not to follow Him, and you leave Him to pursue your own desires, He can’t go, but when you are ready to return, He is waiting for you, He is right here. Whether you have been a faithful Christian and you are facing difficult times, or whether you have turned your back on God, the answer is the same, He is right here. My Christian brother or sister, He hasn’t left you, He’s right here. The wayward sinner, He’s right here waiting for you. He is here. Those weak in faith, take action as Elijah, open your Bible and read. Those who are lost, take action as well, ask Him to forgive you of your sins, believe on Him, open your Bible, and pray, He’s right here!

Upside Down

Paul and Silas went to Thes-sa-lo-ni’ca and immediately started preaching. It says in the Bible that, Paul as his manner was, went in to them, and for 3 sabbaths, he preached to these people. I love it, he was on a mission, time was valuable to him and he didn’t want to waste a second. Because of his preaching a great multitude of the devout Greeks  believed and of the chief women, not a few, says the scripture. God’s Word was marching on, and satan did not like it. Acts 17:5,6, “But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them to the people.” They despised what was being preached and they went and found undesirables to do their dirty work. I know you have all seen movies where the town goes after the beast with pitchforks and fire, this must have been what they looked like. These people got the city in an uproar, isn’t that the way it seems now regarding Christianity. If you want to be a Christian, you are considered a bigot for not condoning  people’s life styles, because you call wrong, wrong. You shine a light that they don’t want to see. The light that is shown through you cast light on their sins, and they do not want that! So just like the people in this city, they turn into an uproar, BUT, who has the last Word,…….that’s right,Jesus. Let the gates of hell come against God’s Word, it will not prevail, God’s Word will withstand and overcome! Amen! Verse 6, “And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the  world upside down are come hither also:” That’s right. To them and to satan, Paul had turned the world on its ear preaching that Jesus is the Christ and they couldn’t stand it! Paul and Silas, went in and without hesitation, starting preaching that Jesus is the Christ, and He is the only way to salvation and just like today, it didn’t take long to get the devils attention and for an uproar to occur. Christianity is the only religion that faces the persecution like it does. Why? Because it is turning the world upside down, and hell cannot stand it! The heavens rejoice over one soul being saved, and hell despises it, and that’s why the uproar from the wicked. To God, one soul is precious, and satan knows that, so he is trying to destroy the faith in as many as he can, BUT do not forget Who has the last word! Stay strong my fellow believers, keeping fighting the good fight, keep preaching His Word, keep turning the world upside down for Christ!

I pray that each one of you will feel the strength and power of God, as you go out into a wicked world  that’s in an uproar and turn it upside down for Christ. Keep fighting the fight of faith!

When Prayers Seem “Unanswered”

I want you to think 💭 back to a time when you have prayed over a certain matter. Do you remember how desperate you were in that situation, how much you desired an answer? Sometimes it seems that prayers go unanswered, or perhaps they are not answered in the way that you thought they would be. In these times we just need to trust God, and trust that He has it all covered. If He is directing you to do a certain thing, or if He is not moving you out of the situation that you have prayed about, then you need to trust Him, because after all, He is God, He can certainly do what you have petitioned of Him, but there may be a reason He does not respond the way that you think He should. I was praying over a matter for several months,  I received my answer, and then about 6 months later, I caught a glimpse of why the answer was what it was. God knew it long before I did, and there had been times after the prayer was answered that could have caused me to doubt, but I knew His answer was sure and amen, and I knew I had to trust Him. Proverbs 3:5,6 says this, ” Trust in the Lord with ALL thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6)In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” There are no maybes in these verses, there is no hint of implying that you trust Him, only if it sounds good, it says to trust Him with all thine heart ❤️! God does not play Russian roulette with our lives, He knows the plan for your life, He has good things planned, plans that will lead you and hopefully others to Him in heaven one day. A lady I know once said this, and I think about it quite often, ” The wheels if the Lord grind oh so slow, but oh so fine.” He leaves no detail undone, He leaves nothing to chance. When you pray, and yet you do not understand the answer or you are still waiting on that answer, be patient, trust Him, never doubt, for doubt can lead to sin. Just simply, Trust in Him with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.

God’s Think 💭 Tank

There are groups where people get together, and they think of solutions, or different ways to accomplish a certain thing. They call these groups, “think tanks.” This works because they are each bouncing ideas off of the other person. By each one weighing in, they can work out a solution. Now, I have never been in one of these groups, but I do know the benefit of talking about things. Often I will have an idea 💡, or thought 💭 , and being able to talk it through helps me navigate more clearly. I recently wrote a short story for children, and I had a friend of mine, who is an english teacher 👨‍🏫  read it.  Because it was a different set of eyes 👀 reading it, he was able to give me some pointers on what might make the story even more appealing. So there are benefits of coming together and having a meeting of the minds. In Isaiah, he is telling us the same thing. Actually, he is writing the words of God. Chapter 1:18,”Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” First off in this verse, I just want to say, this is a promise from God, and if anybody can hold up their end of the deal, it’s Him! He is fully capable to accomplish what He says, and He will, if you let Him. Secondly, we see where God is saying, Come now, let us reason together, it’s almost like He’s saying, Come here and let’s talk about this thing or this problem, why you feel you cannot be saved. He is saying to us that if we will come to Him, talk to Him, we can reason out all of our questions and doubts. Being able to talk it out, helps us in so many ways. Sometimes people will feel so unworthy of salvation, that they become blinded and they cannot see the power of God! But God is saying, If you will just come to me, I can make all things clear. The feeling of unworthiness is a trick of the devil, and it works, that’s why he uses it, but God wants you to know, that all you must do is come to Him, reason things out with Him, and He will show you that your sins, though they be as scarlet, they can be white as snow, and though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Come to Him today, get in His think tank, tell Him your sins, your fears, your doubts, and let Him help you, let Him make order of the mess that is in your life.

ALL! WHO ME? YES ALL!

I love the Jewish people, I love to meet them and I love to talk to them. I think most Christians feel a close bond with them. Why, you ask, because our Lord came from them. He blessed Abraham, and like Paul said in Galatians chapter 3:8, “And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall ALL nations be blessed.” We are considered that ALL. God had His plan long, long before it ever came to pass. The Old Testament speaks of Jesus, and His salvation, long before it was to come to pass. Through His servant Abraham, ALL NATIONS would be blessed, so how can we not have a special connection to Israel. I was just telling my husband the other day that my biological side says that I am Gentile, but my spiritual side says, I am Jewish. I have been adopted by God, I have been grafted into this tree of life, and the branches of the Vine of Jesus. Verse 16, “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” God didn’t promise just to some seed of Abraham, He promised His salvation to ALL SEED and to ALL nations! The Jewish people had the Law, and it was pretty much inclusive. If you were in their country and you wanted to abide by the Law, one could, but all men who could not obey the Law, were cursed. Paul said that Jesus has redeemed us from the curse, by becoming the curse! Then salvation was to ALL, He made the ground level, as the song goes, at the foot of the cross. Now the Gentile, the Jew, can all come to Christ and be blessed and freed from the curse. When you are saved, God doesn’t see you as this or that, He sees you as His child, as one of His own. Israel is blessed, and those who accept Christ are blessed! We are grafted into the Vine, not a vine, but The Vine, The Vine of salvation, hope, everlasting life, joy, peace, love, grace, mercy, and the wonderful works of God and His blessings are too many to write! That is why satan fights Christians so bad, that is why he will literally stop at nothing to try and shut the mouth of those who are spreading the Word, or to those living the life for others to see. He wants to quash out that light, and he will bring all of his tricks against you, but remember this, God is a mighty moving force, there is nothing to stop His Truth from marching on! My pastor said this last night and I think it fits here, He that keepeth Israel never slumbers nor sleeps, when you are His, He is keeping you as well! He keeps us ALL in the cleft of His hands!

The Path of God

One of my all time favorite movie scenes comes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Indiana Jones is standing at the edge of a cliff, and their appears to be no other way. He had already made it through dangerous boobytraps,  only to come to a cliff with no bridge. He did have a book, a guide, if you will, and he looked to it for guidance. The place where he had reached was called, The Path of God. He realized that even though he couldn’t see the path, that it must be there, and as he stepped out and his foot caught the invisible bridge, you could see the surprise and a relieved look on his face. He had found a sure footing and he knew he would make it across, he literally took the leap of faith. He believed the book he had been reading, and he knew he had no other choice but to test it, and it came through for him.

Now, I know this is just a movie, but I believe it depicts our Christian walk with the Lord at times. Sometimes you reach, what appears to be a dead end, what shall you do, how will you do it. You don’t see that there is a way, but there is a way. Exodus 14:14,15 “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” (15)”And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:” Amen, and they did go forward, they went forward across an impossible path, they crossed the Red Sea on dry land, not muddy, not damp, but dry land. They literally took a walk of faith. Can you imagine the looming walls of water, and perhaps some were frightened that at any moment, the waves would descend, but they continued to move forward. I have noticed that God always asks us to move forward, never backwards. God asked Moses, Why are you crying to me, you tell them to move forward. I don’t think He was asking Moses that question because He didn’t know, I think He asked Moses that to snap him out of his state of mind. Moses was bound to be frightened and God had to snap him out of that fear in order for Moses to lead the people through.

Sometimes what God is asking of us may seem quite difficult, maybe you don’t understand, but if you will just step forward in faith, the waters will part and all will be clear. I believe Bro. Bear said it best, “How can it be a road, where there ain’t no road?” God makes the road, all we must do is move forward and walk the Path of God.

here is a clip from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, for those who have never seen it.

Yes Lord, I’m Coming!

Often I will call my children, and one in particular, will say, “Yes?” I’ve told him time and time again, that when I call your name, you can answer me back, but be on your way. I know he’s “busy” playing a game, but when I call him, I want an answer and a, “I’m coming,” to follow. It can be frustrating to have to yell back and forth, so I’d rather he come to me, to find out what I want.

Do you think this is what God wants us to do? When He calls us, and we say, “Yes Lord”, do you think 💭 He just wants us to sit there and mull it over before going, or do you think He wants action behind those words, “Yes Lord?” I can tell you, He wants the action along with the obedience. It’s not enough to say, “Yes,” but we must put our faith to action.

Acts chapter 16:10,11, “And after he(Paul), had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. (11) Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis:”

Paul had plans but because his heart ❤️ was always listening for instructions from God, he quickly changed his plans, to do what God had told him.

Some people may say, Paul is different, or the Bible times are different from today, perhaps they may think it was easier for those guys than it is for us. Not so, they endured being beaten and being thrown into jail, just for preaching about Christ. Things then we’re no easier than what we face today, but here we have an example of what we should do, when God calls us. Through His Word, we learn lessons, we learn how to respond in every aspect of our lives, and most importantly, we learn about the heart of God. When we learn about Him, how truly wonderful He is, how amazing He is, and how much He loves us, it creates in us a hunger. The more we learn about Him, the more we want to learn, and from the hunger, our faith grows, and our faith will then have us ready to say, “Yes, Lord,” when He calls. We not only just to answer Him with the “Yes Lord”, but along with it we should say, “I’m coming, use me as you will.” We are to immediately loose, the things holding us back, and go forth. True obeisance, true faith, true commitment to our Lord, being ready to do His work.

I just want to add one ☝️ quick thought here, being ready to do His work, does not only mean going out and around the world preaching, it could be approaching a co-worker, that God has laid on your heart. It could be approaching a classmate. You see, NO job is too small when you work for Christ. If you save one ☝️ life, you have saved a soul from hell!

Endless Love ❤️

Everything in our life will come to an end. We must buy groceries every week, we must put new gas in our cars weekly, all things are temporary. I was thinking about this fact the other day because I am scraping the sides of my container of moisturizer. To me it’s pricey, so I try to hold off as long as possible before buying another. When I first get it, I’m not so sparingly with it, but as the container gets about halfway down, I start trying to conserve it. That’s just me, I know some of you are probably more sensible about that kind of thing but that’s just the way I am. I believe that God showed me something through this though. The things here are temporary and if we want them to last, we must be mindful of how much we use, BUT the love ❤️ and mercy  of God is from everlasting to everlasting! His love ❤️ and mercy never runs out for us, it will never decrease, as a matter of fact, He renews it daily. Daily He will strengthen you, daily He loves you, and daily He shows new mercy unto you. In 2 Kings chapter 4, the widow had debts that needed to be paid. Elisha asked her what she had in the house, she had nothing SAVE a pot of oil! Because of God, Elisha told her to go and get pots and containers from all their neighbors, and shut the door behind them, and start pouring the oil out! Verse 6, “And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son , Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.” God knows what we need, He knew what this lady needed, and His mercy and love never waned. He abundantly, exceedingly, met her need! He went above and beyond, and not only did she have enough to sell and pay her debts off, but it was enough for her and her children to live off of! This is our God! His love ❤️ endures forever, there is no shadow of turning with Him! He will, still, does, can, meet your needs! His supply is endless and His ways are not known to us! He doesn’t reveal everything to us, therefore  we must trust in Him, He will not let you down! He will daily renew you, daily He is with you. His love ❤️ is endless! He wants us to come to Him daily, and draw from the living water, of which is a never ending supply!  Amen and may God bless you today!!
