A Dry Place

Yesterday in Sunday school my mom was reading several verses out of Matthew chapter 14, and when she got to verse 15, God pricked my heart and I knew what to write about today.

Jesus had heard that John the Baptist was killed, He went on a boat to a desert place, and a multitude followed Him. After He had ministered unto them, they were hungry but there was not enough food for so many. Verse 15,”And when it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, This is a DESERT place, and the time is NOW past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.” Jesus had come to a desert place after hearing dear John had been killed. I’m sure this was hard on Him, not because He didn’t know it was going to happen, but you see, Jesus had great compassion, so He was sorry for John, He knew John was with His Father, but I suspect He felt the fear and agony that John must have been feeling before his death. Just because He is God, does not mean He doesn’t have feelings, it didn’t mean that He did not get weary, it didn’t mean that He was not saddened.

So here He is, in a desert place. A dry place, I would suspect and yet once again, He is giving Himself to the people. He told His disciples, “They need not depart; give ye them to eat,” out of His “dry place,” He was able to bless the five thousand. I don’t see Him saying, Don’t you understand, I’ve lost a dear friend, I just want to be alone. I don’t see Him giving into the sadness, but I see Him overcoming the need! When you are in your “dry place,” and you feel that nobody cares, or you feel that you can’t make it, remember Jesus is there with you, He is in the desert WITH you, and if you will allow Him, He will overcome the need for you!

The people gladly took the food that Jesus blessed because they were hungry. The disciples thought it was past time for them, but Jesus’s timing is always perfect! He fed them in a dry place, during a dry time, and He will feed you too! His food will sustain you, give you strength, give you rest, and renew you. Jesus did not allow the circumstances nor the place, to determine His actions. He overcame and you can too, when Jesus is with you!

Jesus ❤️Loves ❤️You and Me!

I was thinking 💭 last night, how people will get so excited 😆 when someone that they admire knows their name. They will seem shocked 😳 that somebody whom they regard so highly, would actually know their name. I’m not saying this person cares for this other person, but simply knows their name. Often one must do something, or accomplish something to be noticed. People walk by the begger on the street, or the drug addict, without ever knowing what their name is, but, their is Someone that not only knows their name, but loves them with an everlasting love ❤️! Oh and now I will tell you Who it is, He is the KING 👑 OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS, His name is JESUS!  I don’t know about you, but to think He loves me is TRULY AMAZING!  The One ☝️ Who has created the world 🌎, the One ☝️ Who holds it all in place, knows my name and your name! Nothing grand must we do, nothing spectacular should be accomplished, He loves us because that’s Who He is, and He loves us right where we are! Luke 12:7, Jesus Himself is speaking, ” But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore:ye are of more value than many sparrows.” This is something the devil tries to belittle, because he knows it’s true. You are loved so much more than you could ever know! The King 👑 of ALL Kings, knows YOUR name, not only does He know your name, He knows each and every hair you have on your head, don’t ever, for one minute think 💭 that you are not good enough, or how could a mighty God love me, He does! Don’t ever think, you’ve gone so far that He cannot bring you back! He will welcome you with open arms, not because you’re famous or rich, but simply because He loves you! His love ❤️ never changes my friend. He cares about every aspect of your life, He has the hairs of your head numbered, and He wants all people to come to Him and be saved!

Who Do You Want To See 👀?!

I have said this before, and I will say it again, it is very easy to get so caught up in our day-to-days, and lose focus on what’s to come. We face troubles here and also times of great joy. When things are going smoothly, people seem to be content with the status quo, and perhaps their desire for that heavenly home is not at the forefront of their minds. But…. there is a better place, there is a place where we will shake off this carnal body and be transformed to a Spiritual body. This is our blessed hope, and I will tell you, that the more I live and see, the more I long for that day of rest. Eyes have not seen nor ears heard how wonderful this place will be!

My son asked me last night, besides Jesus who do you want see in heaven, I said my babies, I can’t wait to see what they look like and hug them, I was getting ready to name more and he said, from the Bible times and I was like, oh, David! Then I got to thinking, we ARE going to be there with these mighty warriors of God. We will get to meet David, Moses, Rahab, Hannah, Samuel, just to name a few. These people have been gone a good while, but they are not lost forever! It’s easy to forget that they are still alive in heaven, where all things are new! Oh how wonderful the thought, to know we are but passing through, and this is not all! 2 Corinthians chapter 6,7 “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:(7)(For we walk by faith, not by sight:). What we are working for cannot be seen, but let us not quit! There is a great reward, there is a heaven to gain and a hell to lose! So keep fighting the good fight, in happy times, remember what awaits you, and in turbulent times, remember what is awaiting you!

Who do you want to see, besides Jesus, when you get there?

Remember, we are living for the unseen, we are living for the eternal!

Ordered By The Lord! ↕️↗️↘️👣

I was driving down the interstate yesterday, going to an unfamiliar destination. I was using my GPS for guidance. I was nervous about the whole trip because I’m not good with directions, but I went anyway. I was not far from where I needed to be, and even though the GPS did not indicate for me to exit off, I thought I was supposed to, so I did, and I looked down and the GPS was rerouting, I knew I’d messed up. Now, I was driving on completely unknown roads. I had no clue where I was going, but I decided to not panic, and listen to my GPS fully and not veer off until I was instructed. Thank God He was with me, and I arrived safe and sound. But… then I had to return home, this time I almost messed up but I fought my doubts about the GPS, and followed the instructions, I made it home without any trouble.

Sometimes in our walk with God, we may think we are all supposed to do this, or that, and even though He has not given the go ahead, we tend to listen to our own selves. How many have done that? I know I have. Psalms 37:23,24 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. (24) Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand.” As a Christian we should desire to walk in God’s will continually, and when we do, our steps are ordered by Him, and we will be prosperous, but sometimes we fall, like I exited where I should not have, and when we do, if we will just ask Him for His guidance, He will hold us up with His  hand and lead us safely on!

I was so upset yesterday when that happened, but now I am glad, because God used that example to help me, and I hope you too! Follow God wholeheartedly, for His way is best! Even when you think you should do something else, if He has not ordered it, don’t do it, follow Him.

Hidden Gospel

Once I heard a preacher talk about how when Christians leave church and go to a restaurant they should smile to their servers, be kind, tip well. He is so right, because the Christian that goes somewhere, in their Sunday clothes, is making a statement. You are announcing that you have been to church, but what are your actions saying. If your clothes say I’ve been to church, but your attitude doesn’t, what is that telling the world. You may be the only example that server sees that shows him/her Christ.   Remember that we have unexplainable joy, or should have, because the meer fact that Jesus has saved us, and we are rescued from a sinners hell, should cause us to rejoice daily! It is so very important that we share this with others, they are lost and dying, and who will tell, or better yet show them Christ.

2 Corinthians chapter 4:3 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:” Don’t let the gospel be hid in you, let it radiate from you, be kind, tender hearted to others. Take that extra step to speak to someone that maybe nobody else speaks to. Show kindness to those that others have overlooked. Let the compassion of our Lord Jesus shine through you, let the world see your gospel, and let it not be hid!

Free In The Word Of The Lord!

Have you ever been talking to someone and they will say something, seeming like they know a lot about the Bible, but when they speak, it just doesn’t ring true? Or have you ever heard folks say that they would read the Bible but they just don’t understand it? As long as one uses that excuse, then they will never understand it.

In 2 Corinthians Paul speaks of such things. In verses 15-17 this is what he says, “But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.(16)Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.(17)Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” He is talking about how people refuse to understand the Word because their hearts are not in tuned with God. If their heart was bare before God, then they would be able to soak up the Word of God and be free from all the earthly baggage that does so heavenly weigh them down. There are some religions that keep their followers in the dark, these people follow blindly and are bound by unattainable expectations,  but you see with Jesus there is liberty! He wholeheartedly reveals Himself to people, His Word, is transparent hiding nothing, all you must do is read His Word, and allow Him to remove the veil. If your desire is to get to know Him, have His Word speak to you, then you must have a willingness to learn, the desire to understand His Word, and He will help you. He said that anybody that seeks knowledge, he will give them that knowledge.

Don’t be fooled by others, don’t allow a veil to keep your heart from truly understanding God’s Word, He’s as close as the mention of His name. Ask Him, He will remove those blinders and allow you to see clearly, and you will have liberty in Him, no longer bound by words of men but free in the Word of the Lord.

Yea and Amen!

There is an old Christian song called, Standing on the Promises of God. The chorus of the song is simple as it just declares that the one who is singing, is standing on the promises of Christ our Savior. Some may sing this without ever really thinking of the words, I know I have. I think we tend to forget that God has made many promises to us, and we must trust Him and never doubt what He can do.

Does the scripture not say that with His stripes, we are healed? Yes, that is a promise and we must stand on it! Did He promise forgiveness for those who ask, absolutely because the scripture says, He was bruised for our iniquities and the chastisement of OUR PEACE was upon Him. His promises did not end with those, He promised to send His Holy Spirit, He promises that He will return, He promises life after death, He promises that HE has an expected end for you, He has good things planned for YOUR life, He has promised that He is the Author and the Finisher of your faith! Oh, and His love is boundless and never ending, like another old song says, A scroll could not contain it, even if it was stretched from sky to sky.

The devil knows all of this, he knows how powerful our God is, and he knows if God said it, He will certainly complete it. So, the devil will try to get you to doubt God’s promises, because when you start to doubt, you start to look at the storm around you, and you may start to sink, but just as Jesus was there for Peter, He is there for you, and that’s another promise!

2 Corinthians chapter 1:20,”For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” You all know what “yea,” means, but do you know what “Amen,” means? It means, SO BE IT, so God’s promises are YES AND SO BE IT! What a great consolation this is! Don’t  allow satan cause you to doubt not even a little bit, because whatever God says, He will surely do!

He says YEA AND AMEN!

Escaping the Holding Tank

There is a show that me and my husband like to watch. It’s about these crab fishermen and their adventures on the treacherous seas. During the show they will often have a camera in the holding tank and you will see the crabs floating down, seemingly unexpectedly to their certain end. They will stay there until the trip is done alive and well until they reach the docks, where they will be culled for a price.

Every time I see them floating down into that tank, I think of how they do not know what lies in store for them, and even if they did, there is nothing they can do about it. We are not much different in the fact that, one can be lost and headed for hell, but unlike the crab because he has no redeemer, we do.

During the seas of life, those difficult treacherous seas, one may get caught in the snare, the trap that satan has placed, but their fate has not been sealed. If this sinner that is being held in the bowels of satans holding tank, would cry for help from Christ Almighty, then the greatest Fisherman of all time, will reach down, and remove that lost soul, save it, and give it its freedom through Him, and as long as this person follows Jesus, He will NEVER be caught again!  My friends one can nonchalantly go through life, and think that the devil will not entrap you, but I tell you, he is not walking nonchalantly, he is stalking like a roaring lion seeking whom he may destroy. Matthew 24:43, “But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.” Now, Jesus is referring to His return, but this is also relevant to make aware that we must watch, and not be ensnared into satan’s trap. The man in the parable was not a bad or evil man, but he was unsaved, unprotected. He was not allowing God to keep his soul, and his “house,” was broken up. You can be a good person and still be lost, an if you are lost, you are being held in satan’s holding tank awaiting your impending doom, BUT, your Redeemer is but a cry away, and you can be saved.

Trials for Testimonies!

In life we are sure to face many trials. We all know this, sometimes they are self-inflicted, sometimes it’s through the acts of others, and sometimes it’s just life. Often, with me the trial makes me more understanding of other people. It kind of opens ones eyes, and one can relate to others better, and that is just one of the ways that our God is amazing. He can take the most horrible thing that has happened to you, and He can give you a testimony!

When another person is facing something, it can be so very comforting to know that perhaps someone has been through the same thing or maybe not the same thing, but one can see that they can make it, they can overcome. God has not put us out here to live to ourselves, but our being, our life should be a living testimony for others. 2 Corinthians chapter 1:3,4 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; (4)Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” These verses are self explanatory aren’t they? It is our duty to spread hope, not discouragement.

If there is one thing that we can learn through our trials it is this, God IS WITH US and that is good news, for us and others!!  Our trials are not just happenstance, they can be a true testimony of God and His blessed hope, encouragement for others. To help someone along life’s way, to show them the comfort and love of God, is nothing short of marvelous. So let us continue in our faith, do not waiver when hard times come, use your trials for testimonies, and help others to have hope and comfort in God.

You can make it, and I can too, through the mercies of God and His unfailing comfort and love!
