📯A Call To Battle 🏹

Being a Christian is not for the faint heart. I remember on the cartoon of Robin Hood, and I believe it was Little John that said, “Faint heart never won fair lady.” He was telling Robin Hood to go for what he desired, he shouldn’t sit back and let things just happen, you have to fight for your beloved. And I will tell you, we must determine in our hearts that we will stand for Jesus, no matter what! We should check our hearts daily, ask for renewed strength and fight the good fight of faith! Now as Paul said, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. We are fighting Spiritual battles and the devil and his crew are pulling out all the stops.

When fighting a battle, I would rather have 500 people totally devoted to the cause, no fear, than a thousand who were not sure where they stood. 1 Chronicles chapter 12:33,”Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of a double heart. The experts of war were rangers, these men were covert, totally prepared, and they knew exactly who they were going to fight! We know our enemy, let us be a ranger for God, fighting diligently, never forgetting our cause. These experts of battle had ALL of their instruments of war! We must use the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD! Praying in the Spirit and reading God’s Word! Next, these men could keep rank, they knew their plans and they were able to put their plans into action. We should keep in mind our goal and never waiver! Knowing that to live is Christ and to die is gain! And lastly these men were not of a double heart, my Bible interprets this as, having a heart, I think that means they were bold. These men believed within their hearts for what they were fighting for, and their hearts did not fail them! Let us not have weak hearts! We are in a battle, let our hearts draw from our belief in God! He will steady our hearts and we will not faint!! He is our Captain, let us follow Him wherever He leads with unfailing devotion to our Lord and Savior!!!

Who Has it All???

Do you think sometimes that those who are not Christians, have more than you? This is not a 21st century thought but this has been going on for thousands of years. You see people and perhaps they have all that you would love to have. They don’t work in the House of the Lord, and they do not toil His fields, and yet they seem perfectly contented and blessed. Well first off, you don’t see what’s going on behind closed doors, but let’s just say all that you imagined their life to be was just that; should that affect the way you serve the Lord, should you be less grateful for what you have? Christians get into trouble when they start comparing other’s lives to their own. Here is the truth of the whole matter, if you have asked God to save you, then you have it all! Those who do not know Him, are the poor souls, they have nothing else to fill their hearts with, so they’d better have the latest and greatest, because they have no hope. If you have asked God into your life, then you know, this is not it, the best is yet to come!

This life, your salvation, is not a game, there will be an end one day. God does not make you serve Him. If one feels they are “missing,” out on things, He is not stopping them if they leave Him, however He is grieved.  He wants us to serve Him because we love Him. He wants us to grasp the sacrifice that was made, and love Him for His salvation!

You know being a Christian does not just mean missing hell, but it means you will be with your Savior, the KING of ALL Kings, the Master of ALL, the Ruler of ALL! Serving Him should be because of love and honor you have for Him, and not because you think He will give you what you want. You walk with the Lord voluntarily, and likewise you can step away. The book of Job shows how an event can take away all that you have. Nothing here on earth is certain except for ONE thing, and that is God! In Job chapter 14:22, he says this, “But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.” Folks this is certain for all mankind, the rich and the poor.

If there were no Heaven, but Jesus had still died for you, would you still serve Him? If there was nothing to gain, would you? I say yes, because of His precious sacrifice, there is nothing I wouldn’t sacrifice for Him! Thank God though there is life after death, He didn’t have to prepare us a place with Him, but He did, because He loves us, He loves YOU! It’s not about the “things,” we have but it’s about the ONE that we know! Keep this in your heart, for you are loved by the EVERLASTING GOD and He is with you!

Trouble, But What We Don’t See

I want to tell you something today, and I really want it to sink in, when you pray God is working. He is not held by time, space, distance, our fears, He is held back by nothing except one thing, you allowing Him to work. A preacher said Sunday night,”We are the only ones that can remove us out of God’s hands.” So when you have prayed have faith, leave it with Him, don’t take it back so that you can aimlessly worry. You can worry yourself sick but nothing will change, if you give it to God, all will change.

The children of Israel were in bondage—God said He had heard their cries.

Goliath was taunting and scaring Saul and his men—-but little David had left the sheep and was on his way.

The soldiers had heated the furnace for the Hebrew children—–but Jesus was already in that fire.

Herod was in a tizzy trying to find the new king—but Jesus was safely tucked away in His crib out of Herod’s reach.

The disciples were frightened on that boat, they thought they had seen a spirit—-but Jesus was already walking on the water, He already had it under His feet before they even knew it was Him.

Lazarus was sick and died, it seemed too late—-but Jesus was walking down that road with healing in His hands.

Three hung on a cross dying— but Jesus was giving eternal life to one.

Jesus was dead and they were distraught—–but He was defeating death, hell, and the grave.

Jesus ascended to heaven—-but He filled them with the fire of the Spirit.

We are here now, facing our trouble—-He is on His throne with the answer.

We await the doctor’s report—- He already knows and is there to comfort you!

We live our daily lives—- but He is preparing His kingdom for us.

We wonder about or nations and what will happen—-but He is coming back, the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS!

No matter the circumstance Jesus is on the other side, He has always been and He will always be, until we join Him in Heaven. Matthew 28:19,20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.Amen.”

No matter what it looks like around you, He is already there, He is already working, and He will NEVER leave you!

The Bonsai 🌲 🌲 🌲

Have you ever seen a Bonsai tree 🌲? I have always liked those little guys, but I learned something the other day that I didn’t know, perhaps you do, the Bonsai tree 🌲  is not a miniature tree 🌲, it would not stay that size unless someone kept it that way. Without the trimming the bonsai would grow and grow until it toward over you and stood amongst the other trees 🌲.
Do you know that we have a Heavenly Father that keeps satan and his devices trimmed down, and without His help and guidance the disparity and temptation of sin would tower over us like a giant tree. But, praise God, when we call on Him, He is there to save, and He will tame that ole tree down to where it is under your feet! There will be no more to fear from it. 1 Samuel 17:33,50, “And Saul said to David, Thou  art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him:( see the world casts doubt, it says you will be in your situation forever, the circumstances are too big!) for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” Now let’s see what happened in just a few verses over. 50,”So David PREVAILED over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.” God “trimmed”, that tree right on down! You see it was not David that slew the giant, but it was God! With man things are impossible BUT WITH GOD, NOTHING is impossible!

Today, you may feel you are completely covered by these trees of doubt, sin, fear, discouragement. The world may tell you, you will never be changed, there’s no way you will prevail, you will stay this way forever, God cannot use you, BUT my dear friends, that is not so! Pray to our Heavenly Father, ask Him to intervene, go and fight your battle for He is with you! Allow Him to trim that tree on down to where it is under your feet, allow Him to ever cut those branches whenever fear or doubt creep in. Allow Him to remove those branches that cause you to stumble! He will put all things under your feet!

We don’t just serve a BIG God, we serve a CAPABLE God!

The Unknown God

Last night my husband and myself were talking about his upcoming Sunday school lesson. We began to talk about how Paul spoke to the Athens about the Unknown God. Boy, I love that verse! Acts 17:23,”For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions(gods that they worshiped), I found an alter with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, HIM DECLARE I unto you.” These people like ALL people needed a Savior, Christ had been to earth, His presence was amongst men, He died, He rose again, He ascended into Heaven, leaving with us The Comforter. But once His presence had filled the earth, the world would never be the same! Now, mankind had a hole in their hearts, an emptiness within, and they sought to fill it. But with what, they did not know Him, so they thought to be safe, they would serve all “gods,” but there is only ONE, and He will not have any others before Him! People are no different today, they seek all manner of “gods,” to fill the void, but nothing will do. Some religions try to incorporate thousands of gods, and maybe they will get the right one, some worship man’s laws and works, HE IS NOT IN THOSE, HE IS UNKNOWN TO THEM. Some choose to be blind while others are ignorant of Him, let us go now as Paul. You see, Paul passed them, he saw and recognized the need and he enlightened them with the Word and expounded that THIS, of Whom He spake, was the Unknown God! How many other Christians walked by never seeing, never knowing the need that these people had. But Paul noticed, and he wanted them to know Him! He wanted them to know that it is HE, that gives rest to the weary, it is He that forgives and saves the  soul from an eternal fire! It is my GOD, Who is no longer Unknown to me, that heals the sick, fills with the Spirit, gives hope to the hopeless, can change a man from addictions to freedom in one healing touch! He IS GOD, KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS, REDEEMER, SAVIOR, FATHER, FRIEND,EVERLASTING LIFE AND LOVE, ETERNAL,OMNIPOTENT, ALPHA AND OMEGA, BEGINNING AND THE END, and the SOON COMING KING, and He is known by me! Do you know Him, or is He still unknown to you? It does not have to be that way, accept His salvation, seek Him, pray, read your Bible, and He will no longer be THE UNKNOWN GOD to you, He will be your Savior, your God!

Christ Sees The Soul

I was in a store the other day, and I came down one aisle and I noticed a mother, grandmother and a small little girl. I started talking to them and saying how cute she was, and the baby was trying to say what I was saying. It was so cute! We continued to talk and then the mother got her little girl out of the buggy and asked her if she would give me a hug. I’m  going to tell you, she gave me the biggest hug that a 22 month old could give, and it blessed my heart! I’m telling you this for a reason, that family was African American and I am white, but there was no animosity, there was no bitterness, there was humanity. Racism is taught or learned because it is sure not born in us. That baby was precious and so were her mother and grandmother and I bet if I were to ask them, they would say that they are saved.

The love of God transcends race, or age, or wealth, when you are with a fellow brother or sister in Christ, you are family!

As I went on I ran into an 85 year old lady, and we started talking. She was precious too! We did get on the subject of church and her walk with the Lord, and as she talked of how He’s blessed her and her family, there was gratitude in her voice, never boasting. The love of God was shown through her and I hope me!

2 Corinthians 10:7,”Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.” No matter the age, race, nationality, male or female, rich or poor, tall or short, the love of God reaches across to each and when you let your light shine and let Christ’s love exude from you, people will be touched!

I wanted to write this today, because there is always talk of such divisions. Nation against nation, people against people, but let the compassion start with you in your community, remembering that Christians are Christ’s, and those who do not know Christ, are just as precious to God, for He DIED FOR US ALL!

I hope this will encourage you today. Don’t look on the outward of people, look at what Christ sees in us all, a soul that He died for.

Taking Time To See!

My life, as of late, has been super busy. I have things going on that are mentally draining, and sometimes it is so hard to know what to do, and then that causes more worry. There’s just so many unknowns and what-ifs. Well, yesterday I got up very early, and I couldn’t go to sleep 😴  . I took our dogs 🐶  🐶 outside a few times, because they couldn’t make their minds up on what they wanted to do. This one time, I was sitting on our steps, and I had my phone 📱 and I was getting ready to check emails, to see if I had any news on one of my situations, and I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ why, but I stopped and looked in the sky 🌌 to the east, and the most beautiful sunrise 🌅 was appearing. The clouds ☁️ were so big and white and the sun ☀️ gave them a tremendous orange glow! It was beautiful! As I look, it’s almost like this was dropped in my heart ❤️, We should never get so busy that we can not stop and see the wonders of the Lord. We should never let life consume us to the point where we are like robots without any emotion or feelings towards the things of God. He has made beautiful things, your life is one of those, we should stop ✋, breath, and thank the Lord for all His wondrous works and ways. He’s got you, He’s got me, so what do we need to be so stressed 😩  about. Matthew 6:28, ” And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they  grow, they toil not, neither do they spin:(29) And YET I say unto you, That Solomon in ALL his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

Trust in the Lord with all your heart ❤️, He will help you and He will guide you!

Readiness Into Performance

As Christians, most desire to be used of God, and so as they pray, eventually a door 🚪 will open and then it is up to them to step in. Now, sometimes these opportunities will come quickly and at other times, they may be forthcoming. So when you are praying and seeking God for guidance, you must be ready Spiritually to accept the challenge when it comes. I say challenge because believe me, the devil will fight you on every side, but you mustn’t quit, because the call of God is a long term commitment, you are accepting a position with Him, and you must be a loyal, “employee”. God does not want us to be a “fair weather friend,” He desires for us to desire to work for Him.

When you are working for Him, not only are you helping others but in turn you are helping yourself. You will grow closer and closer to God, and because He is infinite, you can continue to grow closer everyday for a million years, and yet there would still be room for growth, because His ways are unattainable for us, His thoughts are so much more marvelous than what we can imagine, therefore His depths are unreachable.

In His infinite wisdom, He if He has laid upon your heart a work, then follow where He leads and grow not weary of good deeds. 2 Corinthians 8:11,”Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which yet have.” If you are asking God to use you, then the readiness is there, so then whatever He has asks you to do, perform it. It may be some work in the church that you find not very appealing, but if He has asked you to do it, then let the readiness turn into performance, and allow Him to work through you. You will be a blessing and you will be blessed!

Two Fires 🔥

I was burning some things one day outside, and I had a solid branch in my hand that I was using to maneuver the fire 🔥 around. One would think 💭 that using wood in fire 🔥 would not work, but because I left it in there only briefly, it was fine, and it survived and served the purpose for which I needed it to. When a sinner asks God for forgiveness and salvation, that person is essentially asking for God to try them by fire 🔥 and consume all the worldly desires away. Sometimes the Christian seems to be tried with more intense fire 🔥, but through these trials, they come out stronger and purer. 1 Peter 1:7 “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that persiheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”

When a Christian, is tried on earth, the fire is a loving consuming fire. The fire is intended to make us pure and make us stronger in Christ. The Christian chooses to be set apart and though they may face ridicule by man, in God’s eyes, they shine as pure gold. Now on the flip side, those who choose not to have the Lord God be their savior will also be tried with fire, but this fire is a consuming fire 🔥 that will burn for all eternity. Forever they will know and bear their sins and it will consume them. Hebrews 12:29, “For our God is a consuming fire.”

Today as you read these words, think to yourself, would you rather be tried by God’s fire here on earth, or be tried by His consuming fire that is to come? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather face trials and fire here by the hands of a loving God, than the fire that is given with the Hands of judgement.

I pray that all people will turn their hearts to God, for He is the only One that  saves and rescues.

A Dry Place

Yesterday in Sunday school my mom was reading several verses out of Matthew chapter 14, and when she got to verse 15, God pricked my heart and I knew what to write about today.

Jesus had heard that John the Baptist was killed, He went on a boat to a desert place, and a multitude followed Him. After He had ministered unto them, they were hungry but there was not enough food for so many. Verse 15,”And when it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, This is a DESERT place, and the time is NOW past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.” Jesus had come to a desert place after hearing dear John had been killed. I’m sure this was hard on Him, not because He didn’t know it was going to happen, but you see, Jesus had great compassion, so He was sorry for John, He knew John was with His Father, but I suspect He felt the fear and agony that John must have been feeling before his death. Just because He is God, does not mean He doesn’t have feelings, it didn’t mean that He did not get weary, it didn’t mean that He was not saddened.

So here He is, in a desert place. A dry place, I would suspect and yet once again, He is giving Himself to the people. He told His disciples, “They need not depart; give ye them to eat,” out of His “dry place,” He was able to bless the five thousand. I don’t see Him saying, Don’t you understand, I’ve lost a dear friend, I just want to be alone. I don’t see Him giving into the sadness, but I see Him overcoming the need! When you are in your “dry place,” and you feel that nobody cares, or you feel that you can’t make it, remember Jesus is there with you, He is in the desert WITH you, and if you will allow Him, He will overcome the need for you!

The people gladly took the food that Jesus blessed because they were hungry. The disciples thought it was past time for them, but Jesus’s timing is always perfect! He fed them in a dry place, during a dry time, and He will feed you too! His food will sustain you, give you strength, give you rest, and renew you. Jesus did not allow the circumstances nor the place, to determine His actions. He overcame and you can too, when Jesus is with you!
